Original Finish Shows Some Normal Wear And Use From Playing, Particularly On The Top Of The Instrument- Not A Mint Condition Guitar, But In Very Nice Presentable Condition (See All Photos).
Solid Spruce Top, Solid Mahogany Sides, Back, And Neck. Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard And Bridge.
The Only Repairs Are One Small 3” Crack On The Back That Is Shown On This Listing With A Close Up Photo And Two Other Very Small Sealed Cracks On The Bottom Near The Strap Button That Didn’t Show Up In A Close Up Photo Of The Bottom. All Have Been Professionally Sealed By Our Luthier And Present No Structural Issue.
The Original DeArmond Pickup Works Beautifully. While More “Colored” Than A Modern Acoustic Pickup, It Produces A Nice Clean Sound With A Slight Bump In The Upper Mids And Rich Overtones. So You Can Hear It, A Video Recording Showing The Guitar Being Played Through A 1965 Fender Princeton Reverb Is Included On This Listing.
Neck Features The Classic Martin Slight “V” Profile And Has Full Contour- Not Overly Chunky, With The Depth Measuring .91“ At The First Fret And 1.07” At the 10th.
Nut Width Is A Comfortable 1.7” (Just Slightly Wider Than 1&11/16”).
24&3/4” Scale Length.
Frets Are Original And Have Just Been Professionally Dressed. They Are Perfect With No Imperfections, Dings, Or Issues.
It Has The Original Kluson Deluxe Tuners. The “D” String Tuner Shaft Has A Bend, But All Tuners Function As They Should And It Holds Tune Well.
Set Up Professionally, It Plays Perfectly With Low Action Measuring 2.5mm On The Bass Side And 2mm On The Treble Side At The 12th Fret. There’s No Buzzing, Fretting Out, Or Playing Issues Of Any Kind.
The Saddle Has Been Shaved Some, But Strings Have Good Breaking Angle And No Neckset Needed.
The Original Black Exterior/Green Interior Martin Case Is Rare To See With One Of These And It Is In Very Good Condition With All Latches And Hinges Intact And Functioning As They Should.
The Original Pots Are Slighly Scratchy, But Still Function Well.
For Some Reason Examples Of This Model That Come To Market Almost Always Seem To Be In Rough Shape, But This Is Really An Excellent Playing And Sounding Guitar In No-Excuses Condition.
