1957 Kay Barney Kessel “Jazz Special”.

 

Excellent Overall Condition With No Cracks, Repairs, Or Major Issues.

 

Original Sunburst Finish Is In Excellent Condition With Visible Finish Checking Throughout And A Few Small Dings, But Overall Really Nice (See Photos).

 

All Parts Are Original Except The Grover Imperial Tuners, While Of the Era, Are From Slightly Later As They Have The Rubber Grommets And There Is Also An Added Strap Button Screwed Into The Heel (See Photos).

 

The Frets Are The Original Wide-Flat Frets Of This Era And Are Shown In The Listing Photos. They Are In Very Good Condition, But Are On The Low Side. Modern Tall Frets Might Be An Improvement, But As These Are Original And Still Functional We Would Leave That To the Buyer’s Discretion.

 

Original “Kleenex Box” Pickups Have Full Strong Output And Sound INCREDIBLE- Punchy Mids And Lots Of Presence.

 

Set Up With 11’s, The Neck Has Slight Relief And The Action Is On The Low Side Measuring 4mm Bass Side/3.5mm Treble Side At The 12th Fret And Plays Well With The Slightest

 

1.68” At The Nut (1&11/16).

 

Chunky 50’s Neck Contour With The Depth Measuring .84” At The 1st Fret And .97” At the 10th.

 

Lower Bout Width is 17” And Body Depth Is 2.7”

 

Weighs 7.48 lbs.
